Chances for Northwestern and Stanford

I am over with my first semester of Junior year.
My dream school is Stanford but I know its a huge reach so what about my chances for Northwestern??

White Female. Grew up in a low-income area where I was very much a minority if that makes any difference.

Huge upward trend in grades because I had penumonia my last semester of freshman year. That and I'm bad with spanish which is the only thing I've gotten a B in except for my 2nd semester of math because I was really sick during the final.

ECs (Very weak)

Help start a youth sports league and am a very active member in the organization. Coach for 4 hours at least every day.
Volunteer at animal and senior citizen seniors a few hours a week during school and many more during summer.
Crew member for 3 plays
Part-time job.
I'm not sure if this counts but in middle school I participated in Future City competition and our city won a bunch of awards including a personal award for me for Best City For the Disabled. (Something I am proud of =])

I don't know my ACT or SAT scores yet but any ideas or advice?
Thank you =]

It's hard to give you any sort of assessment (and these assessments are pretty meaningless anyhow) without test scores, knowing what sort of school you go to, and the like.

As for the rest of your stats, they're really good but not exceptional. Your courseload seems pretty rigorous and your grades are in range for both schools, although I don't know what your rank is. Your ECs are pretty standard except for the youth sports league, which seems pretty interesting. Do you have a hook?

Basically, if your rank and test scores are high, and your essays and recommendations are excellent, you should at least have a decent chance. Stanford is a reach for anyone, and so is Northwestern, to a lesser extent. Do you have a safety?

(Caveat: I'm a senior in high school. This is basically guesswork, since I don't know any more than you do.)

Rank is 20 / 505
Huge public highschool.

My safety is St. Mary's College in Maryland.
I only want to go to Northwestern if I can get into the MMSS program, if not then I may go to Michigan State or apply for Michigan. (I am from Michigan.)

I did great on the PSATs (can't remember exact scores) and my PLAN test estimated my ACT to be in the 34-36 range.

My recommendations will be great since all of my teachers love me because I am the only person who knows what its like not to be rich like most of my fellow students are. (I live outside a rich city in the poor city but had school of choice.)

My hook is only the fact that I started a youth basketball league in a very low income area that I was lucky enough to get out of.
