NU is my first choice, but I can't (couldn't) apply ED for various reasons. Not too many people go to NU from my school because they choose UMich over it (in-state), but several people do get in each year.

Your grades and test scores are great--especially if you took the toughest courseload, but your ECs are light. You will need a "killer" essay and teacher recs to have a chance to get into Northwestern IMHO. Your odds are probably right around 45% to 50%.

I'm a bit more optimistic about your chances at NU. You're in the top 10% of your class, which fits the NU profile, and your ACT of 35 is way above the NU 75th percentile. Granted, your ECs are not amazing, but they're also not spectacularly deficient, especially if you put a reasonable number of hours into them. Anyway, I'd say your academics easily trumps any deficiencies in your ECs. I'd figure your odds are around 70%.

Thanks for the replies. I agree that my EC are light...swimming takes up most of my time (not good enough to be recruited though). I'm going to work very hard on my essays.

ide say u got a chance
eh
match chance
but your ec's are kinda lacking
but yeah ide say its just a match
