In terms of rigor, every school year essentially gets harder than the previous year, more AP's more college courses. I have taken classes such as Investment Analysis, Portfolio Management...classes typically offered on college level.

In both my common app essay and supplement essay I stressed passion for Business and economics in general. I have recommendations from teachers as well as people I have worked with corroborating this.

Please, Please let me know what you guys think. NYU is my dream school and I really really really want to get in!

Let me know if you guys need any more information

aunt bea, I am aware of the financial cost, but in my eyes, its an investment into something far greater…if i can just get in lol…I live in NJ, worst case scenario I take a train every morning.

An admissions representative that visited my school said that all NYU admissions officers think its hilarious to see many business/economics majors apply ED to NYU but indicate they need financial aid, knowing that they’ll be “investing” about $65,000 a year if they get accepted, even though it’ll be a huge setback to their families’ financial situations, and how its ironic because those applicants are the least likely to be good future business people lolol

UCDreamer12, Thank you for your honesty. Let me address this by explicitly stating that money is not an issue. Yea, ill try for financial aid, why wouldn’t i, if i can get a reduction in cost, why not. Its just pragmatic thinking. Secondly, in regards to my business competency you are talking to a student whose gotten call backs from trillion dollar hedge funds my friend (Blackstone/Blackrock). I don’t need to lie on my CV because it essentially speaks for itself. I’ll send it to you if you don’t believe me. However, i appreciate the fact you think i have a good shot.

Sometimes when I look at posts in CC, I wonder what I have done in the last 4 years in school. But going back to your post I will say that your chances are high if you dont apply for any financial aid. Your Extra curriculars are good, gpa and SAT match NYU standards. So I think that your essay will play a big role in the final decision.

You’re SATS are well above NYU’s average. Seriously. I have family there and the kids generally have much lower SATs than that.

I’m a hopeful too. Again, I have close family there (i.e. a sibling), and i have just shy of 2200. I’m pretty confident. Although, I’m not applying for any financial aid and that’s a big plus for NYU.
