Schools I want to go to:
LA
Berkeley
Diego
Irvine

One of UCSB's strength is their Physics Department. In fact they have 2 Nobel laureates in that department. I'm an incoming freshman and I'm definitely considering UCSB, most beautiful campus, great academics, and lots of hot people.

I don't think UCs ask for letters of rec . . . when I applied, they asked you NOT to send any . . . mabye things have changed.
You have a very competitive GPA for a physics major, high enough for most all the UCs. UCLA - probably. Berkeley - isn't certain, but you have a good shot. all other UCs - I'd say slam dunk.

Thanks for the info guys!! Yeah I should apply to UCSB now that you told me they have a really good physics program. Argh.. I just checked the ASSIST site and they didn't even require IGETC to be completed for my major. So what would the chances be with these same stats if I wanted UCSB, 90% in?

BUT if ever you get denied admission and you really want to go there make sure to appeal. With such stats I'm sure UCSB would want you. Take time to check out the UCSB campus if I were you. Make sure it's also during school days so you know what typical school day is like. It really is a great school to be in.....Gosh , I would hate to choose between Berkeley, UCLA and UCSB if I get admitted to all three of them.

I think UCSB has a guaranteed transfer program with all California community college students. Go to the Assist.org website, select your Mount San Antonia, then UCSB, then on the major list, right at the top, click guaranteed transfer. I don't think physics is excluded. Then I believe you just have to make a checkmark in your application in the Guaranteed Admissions section.
