Interests...

My real interests are languages, classical music, and math

My advice would be to just chill out a little bit, at least for another year. How do you know you want to go to Princeton? Heck, I didn't even start thinking about college until the summer before my senior year.

But anyway, your grades look great. Keep it up.

Ernie H.- I live somewhat near Princeton, so I've been there a couple of times. I've done a lot of research into it, and it matches most if not all of my preferences.

Yes, definitely challenge yourself in your language studies, and try to find ways to demonstrate your progress in those. Keep up the band involvement too, for sure. Beyond that, I have no predictions about chances for anybody--I'm always wrong whenever I predict, usually in the direction of thinking someone can't get in who gets in.

My son may be applying to Princeton in the same year. He has a lot less involvement in music and languages, but much more in math.

I'll definitly keep that in mind for the language studies. I am thinking of doing a spanish summer immersion program in Spain. Would that be very helpful on an application? To bad they're so expensieve. I'm also thinking of trying to teach myself a language.

Teaching yourself something would have to be a good idea. As for summer programs abroad, that would be a great experience for someone with your interests. I would apply to as many programs as you can, as soon as you can, and see if there is any possibility of getting financial aid.

I disagree with the idea that it's too early for high school sophomores to be here to plan their course schedules and activities. Of course they may change their minds about what to do in high school or where to apply when they apply for colleges, but there is good information here.

Yeah, I don't think it's too early. What's the point of waiting till senior year to get advice that won't help me because its too late to change anything?
