Community Service:
Quite a fair bit, but nothing outstanding except this Stand Up Take Action(SUTA) against poverty campaign that am organizing to raise funds and generate awareness for the UNMDGs.

Other Information:

I did my Grade 9 and Grade 10 in a high school in New Delhi, India. I sat for CBSE Boards Examinations at the end of grade 10 and scored an aggregate 94.8 %, with A1 grades for all of my five subjects. After that I moved to Singapore, currently living all by myself in a hostel, and wiill be writing my GCE A Level Singapore-Cambridge Examinations in November 2010. Im also doing a 2nd year Electrical Engineering Module on Semiconductor physics and pn Junctions at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) (quite exclusive, done by only 2 students in my cohort of 860+ students).

I can demonstrate proficiency in three languages based on test scores - English, Sanskrit and Hindi.

Now my cause of concern is that I have always been primarily a Science student; however at the end of Junior year I had this revelation! and decided to go for political science. i can probably demonstrate my passion for the subject, however I'm still worried because my academics have been too science focused.

I need opinions, advice, suggestions anything.

My SAT1 Score is 2270 800M/790W/680CR

Do you need aid?

you need to raise your cr sat score to around 750 first

I wouldn’t say you need it to 750, but at least a 720.

Since you are international, the selection process is a lot harsher. Other than that, you seem great. However, make sure you “stand out” in you essays.

Yes, I do need aid, and I am aware that it’ll hurt my chances severely.

I’ll be taking my SAT1 again in December, and hope to hit a 750+ for CR.

No, the schools you are applying to are all need-blind. The problem is that most US colleges have a very limited amount of financial aid for international applicants, so if you did need, which you do, looking in to U.S. schools is not a very good idea.

As far as I’m aware, only Princeton, Dartmouth and Amherst are need-blind.

I get your point about limited funds available, though I was just looking for opinions on admission chances. Thank you anyway.

EDIT: You are right.

Not for internationals. All are need-aware.

The competition from India is brutal, all of these shools will get thousands of applications from Indian students with great stats and accomplishments and they will each take a few. You need to find a way to differentiate yourself from the crowd.
