I want to apply to PURDUE and TAMU. Can someone tell me if I have a good chance of getting in or not? I really appreciate it!

I'm going for biomed engineering / chemical engineering

I don't want to disclose a lot, but I can give you a good idea:

roughly 3.4 GPA

ACT: 29
SAT: about 2080, with a 690 in math as my highest, and a 720 in reading as my highest.

My essay turned out well, I think.

a mix of extracurricular activities include:
-robotics,
-piano,
-band,
-science knowledge bowl
-filmmaking club
-debate
-chess club

-awards in:
-piano competitions and music honor band
-debate tournaments
-academics (AP scholar and national merit commended)
-chess tournaments

-job experience

so tell me what you think! I really appreciate any feedback!

I am trying to get into TAMU myself - I see your going for an engineering major. TAMU has become very selective but I think you have a good chance.
3.4 is a ok GPA - extracurricular activities and awards will help you a lot. All you really need is a strong solid essay and you should get in!

If you are in the top 25%, you are definately in at A&M. Otherwise, you are in, but after a full review. The only way you run into a problem is if the average SAT scores at your school are below 1600 (which seems unlikely to me). What is the average SAT score at your school?

I know my GPA is low, which is why I didn’t apply to higher schools like Harvard, Stanford and the like. I assure you that these are legitimate scores, if that was the question at hand.

Thank you for your reply! I wish you good luck too!

Thank you as well! No my school’s SAT and ACT scores are generally high.

Thank you very much for all the answers! I REALLY really appreciate it! :D
