Chances for Regular Decision?

Hi,

I am currently a senior and recently applied to AU’s College of Communications for journalism. Just wondering what my chances are of getting accepted.

ACT: 24
GPA: 3.76(I’ve taken 6 AP classes with the rest being mostly honors)
SAT II US History: 660
SAT II Literature 610
Extracurricular:
-Writer for school newspaper from 9-12 grade and editor from 11-12 grade
-Key Club Officer 10-12 grade
-Volunteer with the Miracle League from 9-12
-“Reality” Panelist 11-12 grade: contributed articles monthly to section of local newspaper
-National Football Authority writer 11-12
-Summer internship as a reporter for a local newspaper
-Boston University Summer Challenge program this past summer
-Township baseball/travel 9-12 grade
-Future Business Leaders of America in 10 grade

Thanks!

As it happens, AU publishes more data on its admissions process and results than any other university I know of. Take a look through this book <a href=“Office of Institutional Research and Assessment (OIRA) | American University | American University, Washington, DC…-Ed-ADRB-2.pdf%5B/url%5D”>Office of Institutional Research and Assessment (OIRA) | American University | American University, Washington, DC…-Ed-ADRB-2.pdf, and you can chance yourself.

And you can do a pretty good job chancing yourself for most colleges and universities if you google the name of the institution and the phrase “common data set.” When you’ve found the institution’s common data set, look at section C for information on freshman admissions.
