Chances at American University?

Hello, I am a senior and am this week changing my application status for American University from Regular to Early Decision II. I believe the normal acceptance rate is now 35%, but the early decision rate is about 78%. So I’d like to know what you think my chances are.
-I’m applying for the school of communications as a journalism major
-My unweighted gpa is a 90, weighted is a 96
-I am applying test optional
-I have showed a decent amount of interest in the school (have visited, gone to college fairs and spoke with advisors, and signed up for newsletters)
-I know I have one very good, and one amazing recommendation, with quotes like, “Out of the thousands of students I have taught, Ms. Finn is the most genuinely special,” and “she made me a better teacher.”
-A few of my many extra curriculars are
-Editor in Chief of school paper
-President of Mock Trial team
-President of Quill and Scroll
-Vice President of Foreign Language Honor Society
-4 years on varsity field hockey
-3 years varsity track
-Performed in school musical

-I also have had an internship at my town’s local newspaper for about a year and a half now where I have my own column
-I have about 200 volunteer hours at my town’s local museum
-My essay is very well written, but the topic was pretty generic

So what do you think? It’s a competitive school, but I think the early decision acceptance will boost my chances alot. And if you think I have a chance at any decent scholarships let me know. Thanks!
