Enjoy UGA, man.

hmmm, those stats seem pretty close to mine... i was told i have a good chance of getting in... the only thing that will probably boost my chances is my minority status... and i also took more AP courses than you... but your ECs look amazing... im sure you will get in... let me know if you do... good luck

My guess is yes for reg. dec. Even UGA needs some white males. My white male son got in EA, but his SAT was great and he was an exchange student (and that was on transcript), and they love that sort of thing. You might want to take SAT again in DEC to see if you can hit 1300, since you are so close. I hear they love 1300. A little higher SAT might get them to overlook how close you are to a 90!
My son is at a GCPS school too, and also a swim/dive team member/captain. See you at the pool!

hi buddy, are you gonna take SAT again? just to increase your chance at Ga Tech. Your current score are well within UGA's range. I think you'll definitely get in UGA.
My SAT from October is kinda like yours 750M, 520CR, 540W. 1270/1600. 1810/2400. I'm taking it again in Dec.
By the way, is UGA a back up? I'm just curious

No, actually I am not signed up nor do I intend to re-take it. I'm starting to lean more towards UGA becuase I am very undecided about my major right now and UGA is more diverse in terms of majors offered.

My teachers told me choose not the most prestigious but the one that fits you most. I dont think Emory is a fit for me but I just wanna give it a shot to see what happens. GA Tech and UGA are probably the best fits for me. I applied EA at UGA and I dint have to write essay or anything. All they needed is numbers (SAT, GPA, Rank). If i am accepted, I can sit down, relax, and wait for decision from GA Tech.
Fingers crossed ;) We'll be fine, wont we?

Gosh I hope so. I can't afford OOS tuition and GA State, well, isn't UGA or Tech...

I have difficult financial problem too, and I dont think that I can afford OOS or in state expenses. HOPE scholarship is going to cover tuition but $7000 for room and board is still a lot. But have you heard of the Tech Promise? If not, I recommend you go to their website and take a look at it.
Anyway, SAT is this Saturday. Best luck to me ;)

Crisoliva, You can easily get a campus J-O-B to offset some of those expenses. Tuition is covered, but I pay about 7-8K for room, board, and books for my son. Still a bargain, but not cheap. Perhaps you can apply for a student loan? Or, if you have filled out all your FAFSA forms you might get a grant in aid.

Dear mom3boys,
I already filled out FAFSA form, and my EFC is 30. I don't know what it means but I think I will get some aid from the federal aid, and maybe some grant from UGA too(I think I'm qualified for Tech Promise, so I wouldn't worry if I was accepted to Tech). I will definitely get a job while attending, as long as it won't affect the studying, because ,you know, stuying is at first priority. And, I will loan the rest.

cb21: Your chances are good, but you may not want to submit the ACT score. 1300/1600 does seem to work magic at UGA, but your posted profile is strong enough to get you in.

I realize that my ACT score isn't great, but it is withing range according to princetonreview and collegeboard. So why do you say that? BTW I already submitted it; I'm just wondering why.

Also does anyone know if UGA superscores or looks at each testing date.

I believe they do superscore cb21
