Chances for schools in NE

I posted a thread earlier in the admissions forum about foreign language requirements and got some excellent advice, but being the naturally nervous person that I am I decided to post in here to get some feedback on the other aspects of my courseload. Everyone here seems to be a great help and I really appreciate everyone that takes time to help other people out on their college searches.

I am currently a junior who took the PSAT last year (although not for credit) and the only score I can remember was a 191 (I believe this was some type of composite score, although I misplaced the paperwork and don't know exactly what the number meant). I will be taking the SATs this winter/spring.

I recently moved from a public HS in upstate New York to a small prep school in North Carolina. ECs will therefore not be too consistant as different schools offer different ECs.

So, here it is-

I am a white male, resident of New York or North Carolina if I choose, of middle class.

GPA from 9/10 in NY- 3.6 UW
GPA goal for 11 in NC- 3.6 UW

APs- AP European (4) (this was the only AP offered to me in NY)
Currently taking AP US History, and will be taking AP Bio and AP World in 12th. Possibly will take AP French exam in 12th also.

Taking the toughest courseload available, including honors physics in which I am the only junior in a class full of seniors. Also took the toughest courseload in 9th/10th, "enriched" (not sure how that relates to honors down here) classes and one AP.

ECs-
Model UN (10th) (not offered at my current school)
Varsity tennis team (9th & 10th already, going to do 11th and 12th)
CAP (10th and probably 11th and 12th, but hard for me to advance to leadership quickly in a new enviornment)
Junior String Orchestra (string bass & violin) (8th-10th in NY, looking for something similar down here but haven't found anything yet)
Mock Trial- 11th if we can get more people to join
Trying to get my PPL (Private Pilot's License) but funding is a problem

Summer Activities-
After 9th grade- Spent one month with Multinational Force and Observers (Peacekeepers) in the Sinai Desert in Egypt
After 10th grade- UND (University of North Dakota) Aviation Camp (7 days); also moved from NY to NC
After 11th grade- nothing planned yet except college visits; its hard to keep asking my parents to pay for me to go on these summer trips!!

Now, the list. Basically, I am just wondering if I am on the right track to get into my first choice school (which I want more than anything else (!!)) and the other schools on my list. If any of you could please state whether you believe the listed school is a reach, safety, or match, that would also be extremely helpful.

First choice:
- Syracuse University (my mother graduated there and my sister currently attends SU) (Would like to go to Maxwell school of IR or Newhouse Communication at SU)
Other choices:
-Boston University
-UNC Chapel Hill
-Northeastern University
-George Washington University
-American University
-NYU

Like I said before, you all are extremely helpful and thanks again for spending time to help me and others on this forum out. It really means a lot!

Thanks in advance!

Bump...

Any help is appreciated!

Bump...anyone??

Would love to hear any input/advice/opinions...

its really impossible for advice until we hear your act or sat scores. sorry. as for your gpa, you are lookin good so far.

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

I'm sorry I don't have my SAT score. Suppose I scored a 1900, would any of these schools be realistic? I know that NYU and UNC are reaches, but since I have lived in both states I can be considered a legal resident of one or the other, so I though that being in-state might help my chances.

Thanks again, and I'm sorry that I don't have the score (crucial I know!!).

These are my opinions with your gpa and estimated 1900 sat

Syracuse University - accepted
-Boston University - accepted
-UNC Chapel Hill - denied
-Northeastern University - accepted
-George Washington University - accepted
-American University - accepted
-NYU - denied

Thanks for responding. Pretty much what I was thinking/hoping, but I obviously have a bias so it is always good to get an outside opinion.

Thanks again!
