I’ll chance back!

You look pretty qualified and are definitely are in the ballpark for all of your schools. When it comes to the Ivies, it will probably be down party to chance and how good your essays are. I think when it comes to them, you can’t base it so much off of test scores because of how many qualified people there are. Being a minority will help give you a better chance, and I think you look good. The same kind of goes for UChicago. The rest look like high matches besides GW. You might want to choose some safeties that you are sure you can be accepted to. Good luck!

Being a first-generation college student really helps. Your weighted gpa is only okay, but it really depends on how your school formulates gpa. Your ACT is really good. I’m a little worried that your ecs don’t have anything to do with your intended major. Just being honest, in no way trying to be hurtful.

@AdventuresAbroad 1st gen US citizen, not college student!! sorry if that wasn’t very clear

Your GPA and ACT are on the low side for the Ivies, Hopkins, Chicago and Vanderbilt. They are reaches.

My mistake @dylank47

I think anything like that(first-generation) to do/be something different within your family is really valuable to admissions.
It just shows that you’re doing the whole American college process for yourself and not because your parents told you.
And unlike me, they won’t ask if your parents are gtown alum

@AdventuresAbroad absolutely! you’re alllying to SFS and ECs match up well with that

While I don’t think experience is a requirement( that’s what college is for, right?) I think it just goes to show that your major was selected based on something you know a lot about and have seen first-hand.
Regardless, wish you the best of luck!

@AdventuresAbroad @TomSrOfBoston She was accepted to UChicago EA.

That’s awesome, congrats @dylanm47

Before I read the negative comments here, and before I realized this was an old thread, I was going to say OP has a competitive profile for all the listed schools — Harvard, Columbia, Penn, Chicago included. Black female, class president, varsity sports, top 10% of class.

I’m surprised people are so focused on the GPA here that they can’t see the leadership potential in a candidate.

@aoeuidhtns thank you! really appreciate it
