"you're a first generation korean? What were your parents then, chinese?
".

that made no sense whatsoever.
first generation, as in im the first generation in my family born in america idiot

I like this guy.

technically speaking that makes you a 2nd generation; cuz otherwise what are you parents, 0 generation?

no offense =)

great ECs. chances look good.

it doesn't make him second generation. his parents are 0 generation as they never lived in america. he means he is the first generation in his family to be born in America.

"as in im the first generation in my family born in america"

chances look good ? on the emory or vanderbilt board, it seemed as though i didnt havea chance

You are also a first generation college student -- because your parents didn't go to college (your brother doesn't count -- he is your generation).

That will help you out a little -- both admissions and scholarship money.

Sorry -- I don't know about your chances.

thats good to hear
