Chances for Stanford, UCLA, Reed, and Claremont McKenna

Hello everyone,

I know that these chances threads are only a rough indicator and I don’t take them seriously, but I would like to know what everyone thinks. I am interested in political science and have a strong love of writing and reading.

I don’t know about Reed but for the rest you need to improve your ACT (34+) and you look rather light on the number of APs (if the 2 are the only ones). Also, preferably, 2+ subject tests (with 760+ scores) as well.

^ By the way, except for the Reed for which I don’t know much, you are targeting schools with the most unpredictable outcomes!

I thought that my ACT was in the median 50 for all the schools. And for UCLA and CMC subject tests are neither required not recommended. I am taking 3 more AP tests this year.

I took 3 weighted classes (Honors Pre-Cal, AP Euro, and AP Psych) last year on a 6 class schedule, all A’s. This year I our schedule switched to a 4 by 4 and my first period is AB’d so my schedule looks like this:
Semester 1:
AP Lang/APUSH
Theatre 5-6
AP Human Geography (online)
AP Comp Sci

Semester 2:
AP Lang/APUSH
AP Stats
Biology (schedule wouldn’t allow for advanced, honors, or AP)
AP Human Geography (online)

I am taking the AP test for Lang, Human Geography, and Stats.

For UCLA I believe 2 Subject tests are “recommended” (unless they changed the rules since last year!). ACT at median 50 is not good enough for you as the first 25% of admits are mostly recruites (unless you consider yourself one?).

@uclaparent9
Subject tests are only recommended for the School of Engineering, I’m pretty sure it has been that way for a while. And are you saying that 25% of those admitted to UCLA are athletes? That doesn’t make any sense.
