LETTERS OF REC

My profs loved me. I sat in the front in all of my classes, and often led discussions.

APPLYING TO:
-UC Berkeley
-UCLA
-UCSD
-USC
-Cornell
-Vanderbilt
-Stanford
-Claremont McKenna

Tagging into UCSB.

You are a very strong candidate for all of them. Stanford and Claremont accept just a few transfers each year (like 30). I don’t know about Vanderbilt and Cornell. The others are competitive for everyone. You are wise to use TAG as a fall-back.

Great job so far and good luck with your applications!

Thank you @NCalRent !!

I was wondering whether or not my low SAT score will significantly hurt me while applying to private schools as a transfer? Should I retake it? I got a 2120 on a practice SAT, but still.

A 2120 is a very solid score. I’d let it stand.

My bad, my bad @NCalRent . What I meant to say was that my original score was freakishly low (1650), but now I’m scoring in the mid/low 2100s.

In high school, I just assumed that I’d do really well on the SAT. All of my friends were scoring the the 22-2300s, so I just figured I’d get around the same score.

So basically, should I retake the SAT now that my score is much, much higher?

I know UCs don’t look at the SAT of transfer applicants. Stanford and Claremont basically don’t take transfers. The others, I don’t know. If they look at SAT, then you’ll want to improve a 1650.
