<p>Looks great:) but that gpa does look kinda low, no offense. by the way, when did you come to the US? Why did you have to take the TOEFL? I was here for only 4 years, and my counselor didnt make me take it.</p>

<p>wow you are really bad at math =P</p>

<p>i actually came to the states when i was 2... but i learned chinese and english at the same time and mostly spoke chinese at home growing u[ since my parents wanted me to be bilingual... My counselor suggested me to take TOEEL in august since my SAT verbal and writing is soo low. But then in October, I took the ACT's w.o practice and did much better than my sats so the TOEFL kind isn't really necessary now...</p>

<p>anyone??? please?? haha, thanks!!</p>

<p>bump... plz, any comments is appreciated!</p>

<p>bump... plz, any comments is appreciated! thanks so much!</p>

<p>bump... any help or chance? be as honest as possible??</p>

<p>I'm going to be extremely foward.
Your chances are kind of slim to nothing.
Now I could be wrong but it's just an educated guess.
Your SAT score is average.
Your GPA is extremely to low for Stern.
You haven't completed enough AP/IB/Honors courses.
Although your EC's are great, your academic stats aren't.
Your stats are extremely low for being a Chinese female ( not to be rude ) but It's true.
Also.. the major you've chosen (Finance) to be exact is an extremely competitive major.
Just being truthful, if I seemed harsh I do apologize.
I wish you good luck.
If you don't get accepted into NYU, there are other colleges you can apply to in NYC.
Btw, where is your location?
NYU or Eastcoast colleges in general don't really care to much about the ACT as they do the SAT.
The ACT in general is "easier" than the SAT, NYU requires you to have SAT scores.
They don't require you to have ACT scores.</p>

<p>As far as i'm concerned, they place the same weightage for both the ACT and the SAT Reasoning, none overpowers the other. I understand that you're trying to give your honest opinion but I think the facts are slightly distorted.</p>

<p>"Official score reports for the SAT from the College Entrance Examination Board or the ACT (with Writing Test) from the American College Test Assessment Program". I believe the word "or" suggests that either one is required.</p>

<p>Also, on what basis are you comparing the ACT to be "easier" than the SAT? I don't get your logic. Have you even sat for the ACT?</p>

<p>To laxgurl, the rest of your stats look competitive for Stern other than your GPA and rank. NYU is a pretty unpredictable school so don't let anyone's predictions affect you. At the end of the day, you are the best chancer of your application. Hang in there for judgement day in April :) Optimism goes a long way~</p>

<p>thanks deep and also sshjuskissme... i really appreciate the honest comments. also, to shhjuskissme, im from boston. </p>

<p>also, just an update: those aps were from junior year, im taking AP physics and AP bio currently if that changes anything???</p>

<p>Well the reason I said most of those things are because you're applying RD.
It's harder to get accepted applying RD, than if you were to apply ED.
There is a higher admission rate if you apply ED, so applying RD slims down your chances even more.
The ACT in general is considered to be "easier" than the SAT.
Google, Wikipedia, or CollegeBoard it.
And Yes I did sit for the ACT & The SAT and scored highly on both.
Both my friends and I found the ACT to be much easier than the SAT.
That is just my opinion, either which way I wish you the best of luck.
You never know what may happen, so keep your fingers crossed Laxgurl :)</p>

<p>FYI : I didn't know you were taking any AP's senior year. I'm sure they will take that into consideration, especially if you've recieved good grades in them.</p>

<p>bump. anyone else? </p>

<p>i will chance you! haha...</p>

<p>hm i agree with everyone else. gpa and SAT Reasoning seem on the low side, but everything else looks great!!!</p>

<p>chance me plz? :]

<p>Actually, the ACT and SAT are not given preference over one another and every school in the USA now accepts the ACT in lieu of the SAT.</p>

<p>reach/match
after I heard that NYU Stern gets transfers frm Nassau community college</p>
