Chances for Tabor, Nobles and Milton

Hi!
I have recently begun looking into different independent schools for high school. I was wondering what your thoughts were on if I have a chance on getting into some of the following schools, but first let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am fourteen and currently attend a public school. I have never skipped a grade and I have never been held back. I am in the highest level of courses offered at my school and still receive straight A's and A+'s with the occasional A-. I am scheduled to begin taking an advanced research course later in the school year for scoring high on the MCAS. I recently participated in National History Day, I scored 1st place in the first round (the other rounds have not been completed yet). I play club softball and I have been sailing for 7 years. I have played the violin for 4 years and was recently accepted into my school's chamber orchestra. I have also taken private piano lessons for 9 years. I participate in Peer Assistant Leaders and Peer Mediation at my school, both of which you needed to apply for. They are basically both programs to do good for the community. I also applied and got accepted into Buddies, a program which sets up you and a group of other students with a buddy, who is a child with special needs. I took the SSAT for the first time in November and scored in the 91st percentile. So what are my chances of getting into Tabor Academy, Milton Academy and Noble and Greenough School?

Also, if you have any knowledge about any of these schools, anything is helpful!

Thank you and any help is appreciated!

Hi! I’m a parent at Nobles so it’s the school I know best. Your SSAT scores are awesome and should definitely make you a contender at any of the schools you mention. Here are a couple of articles that specifically mention Nobles: <a href=“High Schools With Highest SAT Scores”>High Schools With Highest SAT Scores; and <a href=“The Making of a Harvard Feeder School | News | The Harvard Crimson”>http://www.thecrimson.com/article/2013/12/13/making-harvard-feeder-schools/</a></p>

While both those stories talk about scores and where students go to school, I will say that despite challenging academics, the culture at Nobles is really warm and supportive. Also, community service is HUGE here. If service is important to you, you might be a great fit for Nobles.

Good luck!

You’ve got a great shot at Tabor for sure, I think you’ll get in there. Milton and Nobles are much more competitive, but I think you’re a contender for both. I’m also applying to Milton and Tabor!
