Chances for Thacher, Cate, and Berkshire

Hi. I'm applying for ninth grade to Thacher, Cate, Berkshire, and a few back-up schools.

Gender: Female
Ethnicity: Polynesian

In the 7th and 6th grade, I didn't put much effort in receiving amazing grades on my report card, but I managed to keep my grades over a B.Currently, I have all As in academic subjects and a B in P.E. I'm supposed to be in the 7th grade, but I skipped a grade because my school's staff was impressed with my academic ability. I'm a self-taught musician who can play the piano, guitar, and ukelele. I'm able to play by ear. I'm not as committed to the guitar and ukelele as I am to the piano though. I am very adept in drawing and I'm an avid reader. Weakness: Athletics. I've never participated in community service. I wish I could take high school courses, unfortunately, my family does not have enough money to pay for them.
I took my first SSAT in November and it was terrible:
Verbal Reasoning: 46%
Math: 22%
Reading: 32%
Overall Test Score: 29%

I took it again in December and improved a little:

Verbal Reasoning: 50%
Math: 51%
Reading: 32%
Overall Test Score: 43%

I took it again this month on the 5th. I studied like a boss for the Math, so I feel confident about that. My test score hasn't been released yet.

Ok, no one (unless they are an AO,) can tell you what your chances for any school are. Every year schools look for different candidates to shape and mold their school. At the end of the day you are submitting what you have and what people tell you on CC regarding “chances” won’t benefit or hurt you. The best advice anyone on CC can give you about the application is to fill out your app as best you can and wait for March 10th. I would go in with the mindset “Hope for the best, and expect the worst.”
