<p>Heyy! (: So I'm applying for Cate School and Thacher School in California as a freshman! Wellll I'm new to this forum so I don't really know if I'm...posting in the right place but hope u can help me out! :D </p>

<p>Extracurriculars:</p>

<p>Basketball
Volleyball
Soccer
Viola
Piano
Lacrosse
Student Council (vice president)
Community Service</p>

<p>Grades:</p>

<p>English: A-
French: A
Science: A-
Math: A-
P.E: A
Health: A
Drama: A
Social Studies: A-
Music: A-
Multimedia: A-</p>

<p>SSAT & TOEFL:</p>

<p>Math: 749 90%tile
Reading: 614 21%tile
Verbal: 689 67%tile
Total: 2052 64%tile</p>

<p>I got waived for TOEFL because I started school in Canada and moved overseas to an international school due to my dads business. My first language was basically english. </p>

<p>What are my chances for Cate and Thacher? I know that both of these are really competitive schools and my SSAT scores are not that strong. But do I stand a chance? Thanks in advance! :D</p>

<p>That said:</p>

<p>These are, as you noted, very competitive schools. Lots of excellent well-qualified candidates get turned away from them because there just is not room.</p>

<p>Why not broaden your applications to include some less selective schools, so that you are more likely to get accepted somewhere for next fall? For example, there is still time to apply to Stevenson (Feb 1st deadline). It is supposed to be an excellent school, SSAT average is 67% (close you yours), acceptance rate 42%. </p>

<p>If you get accepted to more than one, you can choose your favorite!</p>
