Really, it’s quite impossible to predict chances. I asked the same thing about 6 months ago. It’s just a hard thing to predict, especially since you’re asking about USNA, because service academies are harder to predict than normal colleges. I know someone who I figured would get in, and he did. I know someone else who I thought would get in; he didn’t.

One thing I would recommend is taking the SAT’s as well, they like to see both.

You’ve a fine, strong record. CE527M has captured this well. It’s virtually impossible to scoop. Your scores are good, not stellar. I’d keep working on them, as suggested. They’re “average” for your general group. And being from NY, you’ll have plenty of competition. Be informed that USNA has no use for any scores other than the Math and Verbal/English. None other are noted nor needed. And they super score so you’re not penalized for taking them again and again.

You’ll be asked for several very specific recommendations … from your JUNIOR year math and English teachers. You should put them on queue now, while school is still in. These are emailed to them. They need to be on the lookout for them AND they need to be primed that these are NOT the run of the mill, Joey’s going to Syracuse and needs two recommendations. They should be detailed, specific, lending examples to back up points, etc. These can be very important when the competition is stiff, which it will be for you.

But none can scoop this, so forget that. It’s a total waste of time and worry seeking such input. The obvious is simply this … you’ve NO IDEA who you’ll be competing with in your congressional district nor your state.

Make contact with your MOC and your 2 senators in the next month or so. They are online and their apps and guidelines will be also. Did you apply for NASS? Outcome?

In sum, you look to be a very viable, fine candidate! Go for it if you are prepared to put more work into this application than any other you’ll do. It is statistically tougher gaining admission than it is to complete the course. And consequently IF you get in, they’ve alot invested in you already and WANT you to complete the process and become a productive Navy or Marine Corps officer.

It is not clear to me where year you are in h.s. Are you a senior who will shortly be graduating (you list several yr 12 items) and have you applies to USNA? The window for this year’s applications has closed so you are too late if just starting now. Once you graduate from h.s. (assuming you are a senior), did you apply to other colleges or what do you plan to do in the Fall?

Did you just recently learn about USNA, have you applied for NASS???..etc. Frankly, no one can look at your resume and tell you your chances.

Are you asking about your own chances or those of someone you know? On other posts on this site you indicate you are attending Georgetown so I am not really sure what you are asking.
