I applied for an engineering foundation scholarship at this university I will be transferring to. Anyways, so the requirements were a one page essay explaining my interest in engineering, a recommendation, and the application. I had my essay revised by an English teacher at my local community college and he said that I was a solid writer, and I received a letter of recommendation from the chair of the Mathematics Department who emphasized my work ethic, and reiterated my qualifications.

It depends on how many others apply, what the qualifications are, and if you meet them or if someone else has more to offer the department. Your essay may be the best, but it’s not an essay contest, it’s an engineering scholarship. Do you have all the other requirements?

I don’t know I have taken trig and pre calc so far and I have done well. I am also a “scholar” at my current school. My overall GPA is only a 3.1 though…
