I am a student form the metrowest Boston area. I go to a competitive public high school, one of the tops in the state.

GPA: 3.2 UW 3.7 W

SAT: 650 M, 620 R 660 Wr

I want to get into the music bussiness or piano program at Thornton.

I have taken piano for 12 years, Percussion 8 years

Won MICCA Gold 2005 for percussion quartet
Have competed in numerous competitions for piano
Pit orchestra all four years of high school

BTW how competitive is the marching band?

The music industry program at Throton is extremely competitive to get into. With your stats, it would be a stretch. Marching band is more so based on skill, obviously. I don't know anyone in the band so...can't help you with that.

However, given your awards, getting into the piano program may be more so up your alley (you could always minor in music industry if you didn't get into the program).

I applied to thornton for music industry, too.

12 years of piano, 7 of flute
piano competitions forever-kinda lessened when i started jazz and accompanying more in high school
1st chair flute for 3 years (205 people in our band)
-consistent regional honor band, superiors at districts/state solo and ensemble
-2007 all-state
-orchestra pit for 3 years (soph-piano, jr-flute piano, sr-will play flute)

did you audition for music industry? it looks like your sat scores are pretty strong...the opposite of me. i look at everyone on here and it makes me nervous.
