Chance me please for:

Middlebury
Bowdoin
Yale (SCEA)
Boston College (we send around 35 kids here each year)
Tufts
Dartmouth
Colgate
Brown
College of the Holy Cross
Connecticut College
Harvard (mother went here, uncle is a wealthy double-graduate)

Thanks!

shameless self-bump! please help!

I’d say you’re almost certainly in at Boston College, Colgate, Connecticut College, Tufts, and College of the Holy Cross.

You have a very good shot at Middlebury and Bowdoin.

Dartmouth and Brown are quite possible, it’ll probably come down to essays, teacher recs, etc.

Because of your legacy status, Harvard is well within reach, but you’re still going to need killer essays and the like.

Yale will probably be the hardest of all the ones you listed, which sucks because it looks like its your first choice. You do have a decent shot, but unlike Harvard, you’re not a legacy, and so many other wealthy Northeast prep kids apply there. You’ll just really have to make yourself stand out of the crowd.

Best of luck!

Thanks. Other thoughts?

I would definitely say YOU’RE in for Boston College, Connecticut College, Colgate and Tufts.
Good shot at Bowdoin – my dad went there for pre-med and loved it
Dartmouth can be tough to get into but I’d say you have a reasonable shot
You definitely have A shot at Harvard and Yale- just write great essays GOOD LUCK with everything!! you have extremely impressive stats

Agree with others: good chances at BC, Bowdoin, Colgate, and the other schools, reasonable reaches for Middlebury, Dartmouth, and Brown. Strategically speaking, do you think it would be better to apply to another, slightly less selective school EA? Even though you have great stats, being accepted to Yale SCEA is fairly unlikely (though you definitely do have a chance), as everyone who’s looking into HPY will be applying to Y at the same time. I’ve seen people with far better stats being deferred last year, and by April, most of the deferred were rejected. Also, if you apply to a slightly less selective school and manage to get in, then you won’t have to send in applications for any of the safety schools, saving yourself from stress and worry as well as time and application fees. Just a thought as I was reading your original post.

I appreciate the advice Calico. I am extremely torn right now between taking the EA route to an upper upper school and doing exactly what you suggested. Out of the schools I have seen thus far, Midd felt the best to me, with Yale a close second.

So what would you say my chances are for Midd early decision? Is this a wise choice?
