chances for transferring?

I'm currently a Freshman at Stony Brook University and I'm hoping to transfer for Fall 2006. I want to transfer to a school that is not as socially and politically apathetic as my school. Mainly a school that is more on the liberal side, socially aware in issues such as women's rights, gay rights, etc. Stony Brook is very big on Greek life, so I'm hoping to get away from that to whichever school I am transferring to. I'm majoring in women's studies at this moment but I'm planning on double majoring in something more practical though.

I'm currently looking into Bryn Mawr, Haverford, Smith, Skidmore and Mt. Holyoke.

Any suggestions on other schools to apply to will be greatly appreciated. Also, any speculations on my chances to the schools i listed above?
Thanks!

hey, I think I've talked to you before joyce, I went to SB last year and decided they were screwing me as they were being very unsympathetic with allowing me to get a late W in calculus I. Anyway, I hear from people on here that Bryn Mawr and Haverford are really hard to transfer into. You got pretty decent stats from sb, so I guess just keep with it and stay away from the sciences if you don't need them and all that as I'm sure you know. I don't know if a 3.5 will make Bryn Mawr or Haverford, but perhaps you would be ok at Skidmore, Mt. Holoyoke and maybe Smith also.

Haverford's impossble, Bryn Mawr isn't -- but with your stats it might be possible, though iffy. I think they take about 30 transfers a year, Haverford less than five.
