You have an excellent chance if you apply ED, not a very good chance if you apply RD. Especially since you interned at Emory.

It is a weakness, but not a disqualifying one.
@CU123 is correct… you have the scores, have taken the right classes and have good extracurriculars. But UChicago is very hard to get in even with all those things. However, the ED I and ED II threads here on CC reflect kids getting in with scores lower than what you have already achieved. Your GPA really should not be a problem if you apply ED. I imagine you go to a public HS with hard grading. Your GPA is still quite high. If possible, visit UChicago over the summer, take the campus tour, attend the admissions info session, talk your parents about paying for school, and then decide whether you can commit ED. Also, request an interview. Good luck!
Thanks. Also, do you suspect there are sizable differences between my odds of admission if I apply ED I or ED II? I might throw might hat into the ring for early at Princeton as a legacy but I assume I won’t get in.
