Hello,

I'm kind of ignorant when it comes to where I stand compared to "upper-tier" students. I'm not sure if I even count as one, but ho-hum. haha. I might be calculating my GPA incorrectly as my school does not weigh GPAs.

I'm an Asian male living in California, with a family income a little over $100,000.
I'll probably be applying for financial aid. The cost of living is pretty steep in my area,
so my parents aren't really making much.

I'll be applying as an Econ. major, or something very similar for most schools.

SAT Score-
2150 [CR: 640, Math: 710, Writing: 800]

I'll be taking the US History and Math Level 2 subject tests next month.
I'm hoping/expecting somewhere in the low to mid 700s.

GPA (Excluding Senior Year)
Unweighted 4.0; weighted 4.2
It's brought down a bit because I had no AP's available in freshman year.
Classrank: Somewhere in the top 10%. Technically 1/544 because of unweighted GPAs.

Senior Year Schedule:
AP Psychology
AP Macroeconomics (sem1)/AP Government (Sem2)
Regular English
AP Statistics
French AP
Sociology

Nothing crazy when it comes to extra-curriculars:
-Volunteer at local YMCA for 2 years. (and still volunteering)
-Black Belt in Tae-Kwon-Do. Placed (2nd or 3rd) in a few small tournaments.
-Long-time runner and seasonal running coach. Placed second in age group in a large half-marathon. Various other awards in smaller races in shorter distances.
-Worked with a fundraiser for Smiletrain for a summer
-Had a part-time job as a swimming instructor for one summer
-School's French Club President
-Founder/President of School's Korean club
-Honorary board member of school's fashion club
-Small volunteer activities here and there.

My essays probably won't be anything too fantastic as I don't write about myself very well.

So what are my chances at those 4 schools?
I know that UCB and UCLA aren't impossible, but I'm not too sure about my chances for UPenn and Brown. What would my chances be for other selective schools? (UChi, Stanford, etc)

Thank you. (-:
