Please let me know what my chances are! I dream to go to UCLA or NYU

I don’t know much about most of those schools, but it’s very likely that you could get into UW.

NYU is a reach, John Hopkins is a high match. Match everywhere else

Is NYU harder than UCLA, I thought UCLA is more selective?

Also do the UC schools only look at at 10th through 11th grades or the entire transcript? Because I also have high school courses I took in middle school on my transcript

I would think that UCLA is more selective than NYU (at least this year). I go to a large public Cali HS and (not giving any specifics but) we’re typically a UCLA feeder - think like 30-50 kids a year; that being said, a ton of people got rejected this year (I think only about 5 got in?). They had about 106k applications this year, which is a ton more than last year, but I think your stats/ECs are at least competitive (maybe try retaking the SAT?).

John Hopkins - Reach
NYU - High Match/Low Reach
USC - High Match/Low Reach
UCLA - Low Reach
UCSD - Match
UDub - Match

@nflpackers96 and @rhapsodicone- I’m not sure why you’re under the impression that NYU would be a reach and JHU a high match for this applicant. If anything, I would reverse that. JHU and NYU are both highly selective, but JHU more so than NYU.

@VegasLiving- I would advise you to retake the SAT or try the ACT, as you’ll need a much higher score if you’re serious about some of the schools you listed. In addition, colleges want to see passion and commitment; quality over quantity. That being said, your ECs don’t really show either, so figure out what you absolutely love and go all out on it. Show that you’re serious about something and anything. Best of luck.

Thanks guys! I’m taking the act needy and hoping for a score around 33, is that good for these colleges?
