Likely History/Classics double major

ACT: 33 (35 E / 26 M / 34 R / 36 S)

I have taken 8 dual enrollment courses (with a 4.0 GPA), and will have taken around 16 by graduation.

I am hoping for an outstanding rec from my English lit. teacher and am confident in my essay writing abilities.

I attended a small private school for my first 2 years of high school with no opportunities for ECs or clubs outside of SGA (voted upon) and sports (which I don't enjoy), and have done limited volunteer work and am planning on doing more this summer. The problem I have encountered is that my passions (history, philosophy, literature, languages, politics) do not seem to translate very well into local EC activities. I spend much of my abundant free time reading and have taught myself Spanish, French and German, thanks in part to having native-speaking friends in all three. Will my general lack of ECs negatively affect my chances? I know that many schools accept supplemental resources from applicants, including reading lists, with UNC among them. Would noting that I enjoy reading the likes of Deleuze, Derrida, Foucault and Heidegger; Said, Chomsky, Fisk and Finkelstein help demonstrate my devotion to these various interests?

Also, if anyone has ideas of other schools that reasonably fit my stats/interests that I might look into, I would be much appreciative.

Thanks!
