My recs should be good and my essays are pretty good (still editing) Thanks!

Oh, and I’m from the midwest - so out of state hurts me, I know

I wouldn’t apply UNC if I were you. They accept over 80% students from in-state, and being OOS will make it difficult to get in. Your GPA seems alright; its impact also stems from the competitiveness of your school and your course rigor. Your ACTs are nothing to be ashamed of, so I’d submit those. SAT IIs? You should probably take two or three. Sign up while you still have time. You’re not a National AP Scholar, by the way. You need to have taken 4 tests. Other than that, your ECs are quite good.

So…hmmm…
UNC would probably be a low reach to reach for you. Duke is maybe a high reach. Vanderbilt could be a high match/low reach. I’m not the most qualified chancer on CC, so anyone else, feel free to correct me.

Thanks! I’m taking the Math II and English SAT II’s in October!

Wow don’t listen to JustAnotherTry at all! Apply to UNC if you want, who knows what will happen?! You seems pretty good overall, really, just work on the SAT score because everything else is fairly solid or just use the ACT because a 33 is pretty good! My first choice is UNC and you definitely look stronger than me Duke is hard for anyone really but I def think you could get into Vanderbilt.

Haha I’m going to apply anyway! Anybody else?

Mikey, it was a suggestion, not an order. I think you may be ignoring the part where over 80% of students are from in-state. That being said, it’s your life; you live it. Just like I’m applying to school’s I’m rather sure I won’t get into, if you apply to UNC, who knows? Your chances are definitely better than mine.

Great shot at all of them!
Your resume is stellar, i know way worse kids than you who got in being totally honest
You go girl!

I would think that Duke and UNC could go either way… Vandi should be a match…
