i am an international student(Asian girl), currently living in IL</p>

AP: 5(APBIO), 4(APUSH)
our school allows taking AP only in Jr/Sr years (with only 2 available Jr yr)
Taking the hardest courses available at school.
7 APs by the end of Senior Year</p>

<p>EC's:
Jazz Band 2 years, Youth Symphony Orchestra 6 years (Chair for 3 yrs), Pit Orchestra 2 years, 7 medals won from music competitions, recognized in State for 3 yrs in a row (I play the flute BTW)
President of Asian Club (raised $ for Earthquke in China) and Spanish Club
Math team for two years
200+ hrs total of volunteer at a hospital and a lab, taught Korean to little children for 50+, volunteered at church events 50+, 30+ at Hunger Task Force
tutored English and math
Recognized as PSAT Semi-finalist (only if i wasnt an international.,,)
recognized as Who's Who Registry of Academic Excellence</p>

<p>i wrote them in order from the ranking in USnews.com (hardest to Easiest)
i am applying JHU as my ED... ik my scores and everything else wouldnt be AMAZING for this school.. but i will have a good recommendation and my mom went to JHU grad school... :)</p>

<p>besides these schools, what else would be my safety schools (or backup schools)?</p>

<p>Good ECs, good test scores, good GPA. Very solid. Does legacy include grad schools? I think you should look that up. But I'd say you have a very solid shot at Hopkins.</p>

<p>just an fyi, I have a client whose daughter goes to Chicago but was rejected by William & Mary, oos from Maryland. Dont go by USNews ranking, very misleading to the real world.</p>

<p>average test scores, good GPA (for the schools you're applying to), standard ECs. Decent shot at all the schools (>50% at Hopkins ED though)</p>

<p>didn't know you applied as an international if you were LIVING in the United States....</p>

<p>im applying international because i am not a US citizen..
i just came here as a student... not an exchange student.. but just a student with a legal VISA status.</p>
