Which is harder to get into, USC or UCLA?

I am currently a junior in high school, and I haven't taken the SAT's yet.

I live in New England, have a GPA of 3.8-3.9 (UW) and around 4.40-4.50 (W)

I am a president of a club, volunteered over 200 hours, and a some other solid EC Activities?

So what is harder to get into, and what are my chances for USC, UCLA and Cal State Long Beach

pretty much impossible to say without an ACT/SAT score

Is the weighted GPA you disclosed your UC GPA? You will need to calculate that as well because that’s what UCLA uses for admissions

To get into USC (which is most competitive in regards to test scores) I would shoot for a 2100+ on the SAT or a 31+ on the ACT

I would say USC and UCLA are equally challenging for admissions with CSLB being a pretty easy school to get in to (don’t be mislead by the low acceptance rate. it is a good school but it’s a not-too-competitive, commuter state school. a little surprised anyone from new england would look into it actually…)

I don’t know if you’re looking for any recommendations for colleges but in the Southern California area there are lots of other great schools. Again, though, hard to tell what would be a match for you without any SAT/ACT scores. Come back for chancing with test scores :)

But do you think I am on the right track?

Yes, your GPA looks good. Stay active in ECs and start prepping for the ACT/SAT…you should also take SAT subject tests. USC does not require but recommends them…UCs require at least 2 subject tests from 2 different areas.
