I am attending a community college in South Carolina, looking to transfer for Fall 2013. Here are my stats:
African American female
22 years old
in-state
40 credits
3.1 GPA
I want to major in Social Work and Spanish, possibly a minor in African American studies. What are my chances looking like? Should I stay at cc and get my GPA up?

At this point, I would stay and finish up the remaining 20 credits at a CC if I were you, just to save money. USC is a lot more expensive than the CC’s. Even the branch campuses are more expensive. (At least my local branch campus is more expensive than my CC.)

Otherwise, I think you have a decent shot of getting in. It can’t really hurt to apply, though.
