Hello, I'm a senior at a private high school in Virginia and was looking at these colleges:

Reaches:

-UVA
-W&M

Matches(?):

-VT
-JMU
-CNU
-Mary Washington

-George Mason(I'd put this between safety and match out of personal opinion.)

Safeties:

-VCU
-Liberty, even though it's private.
-Anything around this level.

My desired major would be finance, so I'm really looking at JMU specifically because UVA and William and Mary are reaches.

Here are my credentials:

GPA: 3.5 unweighted. I took the most difficult classes my school had to offer (selection was not amazing).

Approximate GPA each year:

Freshman: 3.2
Sophomore: 3.6
Junior: 3.8
Senior: Hopefully 4.0, but 3.7 would be more likely. My grades tended to go up throughout high school and as classes got harder.

SAT:

First attempt- 1690- 570 CR, 600 Math, 530 Writing.

Second attempt- 1920. 640 CR, 650 Math, 630 Writing.

EC's:

Concession stand for home Basketball and Volleyball games: 2 years.
Volunteered for a pet adoption group on Saturdays Freshman and Sophomore years.
Aided people in moving into their homes with my Sunday School class: 25 hours.
Beta Club: Junior year.
Worked on the school Yearbook and Newsletter for one year.
Worked at Chick-Fil-A for 5 1/2 months.

And from July 2011 to December 2011 I helped take care of my mother before she passed away from lung cancer in December. This took up most of my Junior year.

In the event that I don't get accepted to any of the match schools, more than likely I'll go to community college for 2 years and transfer into one of them.
