EC: founding member of honor council at my high school, NHS, I have been swimming for 10 years and swimming is truly my passion, I have d1 offers and am willing to turn them down to attend Wharton, talked to coach and just a little below the speed needed to get into Wharton with swimming. Captain of the swim team at my high school and state finalist all 3 years. I also volunteer at a local inner city swim team which allows for kids to be introduced to the sport that may not be able to access it otherwise. I also coach country club swim teams and lifeguard as summer jobs (l truly spend my life at the pool) I feel like my dedication to swimming can be my "hook" also showing my dedication to Wharton turning down D1 opportunities. Thanks for all your help!

I would apply. I think you have a shot – esp ED. Any significant ECs besides swimming? If not, you’re really going to show them how you have developed your leadership skills through swimming – your essay really needs to focus on that.
