Chances I get rejected at 13 schools over a gap year; will chance back

Due to strange circumstances, I am currently deciding between either UC Berkeley or taking a gap year; I'm currently trying to gauge the probability I get rejected at UC Berkeley and 12 other schools if I take a year off and reapply next year. PM for schools, stats and explanation of circumstances.

Will chance back!

Perhaps you could attend Berkeley and try to transfer? In its own right, Berkeley is a very good school.

In terms of next year’s admissions vs. this year’s, admission rates are looking like they’re going to dip even more. It really depends whether you think your grades and EC’s are better now (or will be better when you apply) then they were when you applied this year.

It’s rather unlikely that you’ll be rejected at ALL 13 schools.

You could do something in the gap year to improve your chances.

Thank you for replying! I will PM you my stats and my explanation.

I agree with 082349. You’d probably get into at least one. PM the stats. Why are you deciding to not attend Berkeley? Did you get rejected from ivies and not have safeties?

heyimpeter made a great point: admissions rates will probably lower next year, so keep that in mind.

Really, it comes down to what you do on your gap year. I really wouldn’t recommend taking a gap year just because you didn’t get into your dream school, though.
feel free to pm the stats to me.

^bad news for us class of 2013ers. ugggggh college </3

If it changes anything I was just awarded the Regents and Chancellor’s scholarship to Berkeley.
