chances? i know, old news, but there are cookies!

(i copy/pasted from the Chances thread)

Hey there guys. Thanks in advance for participation in the thread, be it a straightforward answer or muddled advice.

SAT/ACT: 2250/33

GPA (W): 4.2
Rank: 25-30/84, rankings haven't come out yet
APs/Honors: my school works on the vanguard program, so all classes are honors. i have taken AP world history, us history, and english language. i anticipate 4s
Leadership Positions: junior year asst editor-in-chief of school newspaper and senior year editor, essentially revitalized newspaper at my school, secretary of thespian society 06-07, officer in school chapter of junior statesmen of america 07-08 and 08-09, student council class rep fresh/soph/jun year

School Type: small public competitive, in top 100 in the nation according to usnews
Ethnicity: mixed white/asian/african-american (though i just put other on the checkboxes, would it be to my advantage to put something else?)
Gender: female
Other Factors: i present myself really well and will have great essays. obviously that's not a concrete fact, but i figured i'd throw it in there.

(I lied about the cookies!)

I see no cookies.

Did you just lie about cookies? That's not the type of thing the Adcom or any decent human being looks fondly at.

(Very good chances)

It really depends how well you sell yourself. If you can define a couple interests, show how you are passionate about them through your schoolwork/EC's. If you were to tie together your interests in performance (thespian society) to your volunteering, and you experiance in the junior statemen to student council and then to debate.

Other than that, solid grades, solid SAT's, slightly unimpressive courseload (take more AP's next year). I think you have a good shot!

btw, I think my response warrants a cookie.

I will provide at least a half-hour's worth of personalized advice and coaching for a dozen cookies mailed to me.

don't write checks in the subject line that the body of the post can't cash :)

You guys are serious about these cookies! In an underhanded way you did get some, your computer had to process a few to post. Thanks though, everyone, this has been a huge help. My courseload is definitely going to get harder and I've already started forming ideas for essays. I don't want to jinx it but... go lions?
