chances... I know.

I know it's cliche when people do this, but even from my research I still can't figure out where I stand with Reed. It's definitely a top choice for me. I'm applying RD.

Why Reed essay: I'm a very intellectual person with an intense passion for learning. How I use things like Andrew Jackson's presidency and Hydrogen bonding as small talk in conversations.

As far as I can tell you won't be initially counted out. If your transcript is as rigorous as you say it is, they'll notice that and your scores and activities are also very strong.

I firmly believe that at Reed, what matters most are the essays and, if you had one, your interview. So really make sure that your personality shines through in /both/ of your essays (not just the Why Reed one). Also, and this could just be me, I tried to keep my personality there even in the assignment I sent them. But so long as your assignment strongly shows that you can think critically you should be fine.

Overall, you definitely have a chance! Just make sure that you work on those essays until they're perfect.

I agree with SN, you look like a match (which I typically think of as having a 50/50 chance, no surprise either way).

Thanks! That was helpful.
