Chances/Imput - No Ivy's, guys.

<p>So let's see. I posted a thread earlier in the summer on condensing and such. First quarter of school is wrapped up. Applications are being finished up. I may throw in one or two yet, although my parents really don't want me to. </p>

<p>Stats and Stuff:</p>

<p>Not so good Freshmen year was a hard hole to get out of. A white, female and to be senior at a private catholic high school in Pennsylvania. </p>

<p>Rank: 38 of 102.
GPA: 3.51 Okay. This was the a complete upward trend. My freshman year ending in a 2.3, then I got my act together. Yes, its terrible.
SAT: 1270 ; Writing: 670. (Took SAT II's, ask for scores)
Nothing special. </p>

<p>EC:

2 years Varsity Basketball. (JV 9,10)</p>

<p>Student Government:

11th Grade Class President,
12th Student Body President</p>

<p>Student Ambassadors: Senior year. </p>

<p>Other things:

4 Years of Spanish.
4 Years of English (Freshmen year honors class, the rest normal placement)</p>

<p>Colleges: </p>

<p>Boston College
* Major reach. Basicly my dream school. I don't have very high hopes, but basicly I'd be estatic if I got in, and couldn't not apply. Family connections; not a legacy. [Reach.. X2]
Syracuse
*Second choice. Fell in love with it. I realize that it is still a reach though.
Providence College
*Love the city. Great school. Still count as a reach.
University of Maryland
*Tough to get into, brother got in with slightly higher stats, less Ec's. I would call it a reach.
Clemson
*[High match? Maybe?]
University of Pittsburgh
*Visited early Junior year, and fell in love with it. Great state school. [Match]
Catholic University of America
*No problem going to this school. Counted as safety though.
LaSalle University
*Safety, close to home. Only Philadelphia school I actually liked.
Lycoming College (PA)
*Small LAC in the middle of Pennsylvania. Absolute safety. Basicly in with partial scholarship priar to even applying, due to the fact that I went to an academic camp that there that they're known for. I wouldn't mind going there, but it's really not my first choice. </p>

<p>That bascily sums it up. Time is running out, however I may add another school (maybe another match). But thats quite a number of colleges to be applying to. </p>

<p>So basicly, I'm just asking for any kind of imput from you guys. Just to see how and where I may stand. It's fine to say you think I'll get rejected, I have no problem with honesty. But hopefully I can get a few posts from people who have any kind of advice. Thanks a lot.</p>

<p>I think you have a balanced list and are on the right track with all of your colleges. BC is most definitely a reach - have no doubt about that. They really like volunteering, so fit it into one of the short answer/essay questions. Also, for any school you interview, don't say the word "basically."</p>

<p>Wow. I did say that a lot. Good point. </p>

<p>Um, to anyone here's an actualy question:
Do you think my low freshmen GPA and my current low-ish GPA/class rank will have an extremely negative effect when getting reviewed for admissions?</p>
