My gpa in highschool is a 3.0 and SAT score is a 1260/1600 (new sat score). What are my chances in getting into the School of Business Administration at SDSU? Anything I should be doing do improve my chances?
SDSU like almost all CSU’s will use the eligibility index to rank applicants based on their major.
(CSU GPA x800) + (SAT Math + CR). To be competitive for SDSU, you need an EI of around 4100+ to have a good chance at an acceptance. Your SAT score looks within range, so to improve your chances, you need to bump up your GPA to around the 3.5 range. You can always retake the SAT and try for a higher score, but to reach 4100 EI, you need a 1700 SAT score which is impossible.
If you are local SD resident, you will have priority and may get in with a lower EI. Much will depend upon each years in-coming Freshman class and their Stats (EI).
Assuming you are in state and have your a-g courses checked off and are wrapping up your Jr year, you’ll need to substantially improve your GPA and test scores. Honestly though, you probably won’t get in.
Take a look at Chico, SJSU, CalPoly Pomona, All 3 have well respected business programs and are probably well within your reach.
