Chances in UCs and other schools!

Hey, can someone please tell me my chances to some schools and what i need to do to improve my chances.

Background:
Ethnicity: Hispanic (Mexican)
School: Public
Parents income: around 80,000

Stats:
GPA UW: 3.57 Rank: Top 15%
GPA Weighted: 3.95 Rank:Top 10%
UC GPA: 3.86 Rank: Top 10%

Scores:
SAT 1: 1550, 1790 (going to retake one more time)
SAT 2s: USH 690, Math IIC: - , Spanish: -
(should i take the Spanish SAT? there isnt other SAT 2s which i know i can do solid in. i can try physics, but i heard it is really difficult...)
ACTs: taking it in sept.
AP Scores, AP world: 5, APUSH: 3, AP Hum. Geo.: 4, Span. Lang.: 4, Eng. Lang.: 2,

ECs and other stuff (really weak at):
Hospital Volunteer: have up to 70-80 hrs
Math Tutor
Link Crew
CSF
NHS
Club Member that does community service
Referee (i guess it counts as a job, right?)
I'll have about 150-200 hrs of community service by the time i turn in Apps.

Athletics:
-Soccer since freshman, JV and Varsity Letter
-Cross Country during Junior and Senior year, expected to be Varsity this year
-Varsity Track and Field Junior Year
-Went to CIF (Regional championships) on my first year, Varsity letter, League Champions, Awarded Outstanding Newcomer Award, lots of medals ;), looking to get recruited by one of the UCs (except Merced and Riverside lol), i expect to go further this year (prob. state meet?).
-All-Academic Team for both Soccer and Track and Field.

Senior Schedule:
-AP Eng. Lit
-AP Physics
-AP Economics
-AP Calculus
-AP Biology

Schools:
-UCLA
-UCB
-UCSD
-UCI
-UCD
-UCSB
-USC
-Cal Poly SLO
-Stanford (just for kicks)
-Cornell (super reach, reason y im applying is that they have all the majors im thinking about)
-SDSU

*How would my chances change if I were to raise my SATs to a 2000+ or my ACT to a 32?

*Another note, my grades were inconsistent when I was in my sophomore year. I had a 3.0 W GPA 1st semester and went to a 4.1 second semester, 4.6 in my 1st semester junior year, and 4.3 in my second semester junior year. Do you think colleges such as the UCs will like that? It was really hard to recover from that 3.0 and I did whatever i could to raise it up. Nothing out of the ordinary happened to me during that time. I wasn't that focus on school nor college :(.

Thank you! I'll try hard to chance you back!

Remember that the UCs and Cal States do not practice affirmative action, and therefore your URM status will not help you at these schools.

UCLA – Super reach with that SAT score. Although your GPA is about .3 lower than their average, a solid SAT score over 2050 will get you a chance.
UCB – Same as above.
UCSD – SAT over 1950 = Match
UCI – SAT over 1850 = Match
UCD – Same as above
UCSB – Same as above
USC – SAT over 2000 = Match
Cal Poly SLO – Match
Stanford – URM status will help, but you’re still a mega reach here. If you get your SAT to 2200 + you could have a chance.
Cornell – Same more or less as above. Basically you have no chance as of now.
SDSU – Match

-UCLA-reach
-UCB-reach
-UCSD-low reach
-UCI-hopefully match
-UCD-hopefully match
-UCSB-hopefully match
-USC-low reach
-Cal Poly SLO-in
-Stanford (just for kicks)-high reach
-Cornell (super reach, reason y im applying is that they have all the majors im thinking about)nah
-SDSU in

wow we have a lot of the same stats, SAT, WGPA, chance me back!

bump…

bump…

If you don’t get recruited, since the UCs can’t give you a boost for being a URM, you might want to add some more private schools that are a bit less selective than the ivies/Sanford. With an $80K income, generous schools that meet need should come in at pretty close to the cost of a UC.

Maybe Occidental, Pepperdine, USC?

i am considering private schools. however, im leaning more to the schools in california. anymore chances?

someone pwease chance me?

when im leaning to schools in california i mean private schools in california.

You’ve got a good chance at PD, Occidental… raise your SAT for USC.

bump anymore chances?

more chances and advice are useful. i chance back!

Get those test scores and gpa up. Especially the test scores. A test score over 2000 can open so many more doors for you. Your taking difficult classes senior year, so rigor of schedule shouldn’t be an issue. If you get up your test scores, i think you have a decent shot at usc.

anymore chances and advice? i chance back!

Definitely get the SAT score to around 2000 and the ACT to 31-32 if you can and then you stand a good shot. I would try for a few more private universities if you can.
