Well, here's the thing:

I'm a 20yo, white, male Venezuelan prospective student. I graduated from HS back in 2008, and started studying chem here, but I'm pretty tired and I really want to pursue the career I've always wanted to: Applied linguistics.

My three years of university studies are worthless, as the credits are only transferable between institutions with academic agreements with my university.

My high school GPA is pure crap: 2.6. It's unweighted. I don't know if it'll go up or down when weighted, because we have to take tons of crappy classes here (like pre-military education, or "how to fill kids' minds with political propaganda", technical drawing, etc), and I really don't know if they count as academic or not. Besides, no AP, no honors, no nothing 'round here.

I'm taking the SAT next month, don't know about my math score, but my CR and Writing skills are pretty good and I'll surely ace that part.

About ECs, I have countless hours of varied volunteer work and leadership (hospitals, soup kitchens, education, etc), founder, organiser and president of my school's Book Club (the only club we had, unofficial and almost clandestine), editor-in-chief of the school newspaper (1 year) and a couple other things. I'm a musician and multi-instrumentalist.

I'm a polyglot, with full command of Spanish, English and Italian, and many other languages with varied degrees of proficiency.

I know this info is vague, but that's all I can give for the moment. Do I stand any chance? Does cultural diversity count in my favour? Any recommendations?

Thanks!
