Chances #International student# Duke# ED#

Hi all,

I'm a Chinese student. I'm currently studying in a british school and wanna apply Duke University for ED and Claremont McKenna College for EA. Haven't got an intended major.

Okay so here are my stats

I take A-Level courses in my school and got straight As in all 4 subjects( Math, Physics, Bio, Econ) No GPA reported

AP microeconomics 4

Class rank Top 5%

That's pretty much it. Thx for reading my post.

Test scores aren’t consistent. You need a 700+ in both CR and Writing.

Grades are fine. Anyway, if you can get those SAT scores and if you DON’T need financial aid, you should get into CMC ED I or II. There is no EA at CMC. Otherwise, CMC is a reach (RD).

Duke ED is also a reach.

Thx a ton! I have one more question. Do you mean that applying for financial aid will reduce my chance of getting in CMC?

Yes, your chances will fall significantly if you apply for financial aid at CMC. However, if you get a better SAT score, it’s fine if you want to compete for their full-tuition merit aid. Is that what you meant by EA btw? Because that’s not EA. That’s just submitting your application early for RD.
