This was originally for the Dartmouth forum, but I looked on the Ivies forum, and I'm really interested to know what Ivies I could get into, if any. Thanks in advance!

Killer Essays!

I would be appling ED/EA to which ever school.

So far I'd say you have an pretty good chance at all of them considering your URM status and field of interest. If you're into medicine, how about Johns Hopkins or Brown?

You have a chance. Your school + schedule + SAT II's + URM status will help you out quite a bit. You certainly have a chance, although it is certainly possible that you wouldn't be accepted to any Ivy League schools. Apply to a couple of those as reaches, & then look a notch down & see what interests you. WashU in St. Louis might be a good choice.

You have a great shot at the top Ivies and LACS. You still need some match/safety schools because anything can happen. Hispanic apps are up at the Ivies, so the competition is picking up some. You might want to add Rice to your list. If you need financial aid, Rice is pretty generous. UT is not a safety since you aren't top 10%.

I would say best chances Brown, Cornell, Datmouth and maybe Columbia.

I don't know why Princeton, Harvard and Yale are treated as ivy league when these three schools are the best in the world not US, very hard to get admitted maybe 50/50 based on your record, unless you have your dad working at the admission office : ). Columbia has produced a lot of famous characters too don't get me wrong but for some reasons their entering class is not as good as those three I mentioned.

PS. why do you say killer essays you don't know how good are those compared to the rest of the applicants, you can say it after you're admitted believe me you'll be surprised in some cases dissapointed.

Don't go ED anywhere unless you can pay the full fare. Just because they say 100% of demonstrated need doesn't mean your family will agree with the schools assessment of your need. EA schools still allow you to compare offers in April.

mrphilomath, I don't think it's exactly right to say Columbia doesn't have as good an entering class as HYP. Having met a good amount of my fellow '09-ers I can tell you that we are all of equal caliber to any other school in the nation. SAT scores don't make a person great. The character and dedication of a student tells more about them than anything else. I respect and admire the class of 2009 because they were not stat driven crazy children. They are down to Earth, normal kids who have amazing passions and committments.

As for the OP, you look pretty good. Essays are truly the key for a lot of schools, so make sure yours are creative and truthful. Best of luck to you.
