I have played guitar since I was 10.
I practice art on the side and have a lot of talent in that.

I am a caucasian female of a middle class family in NJ.

Woops, a few changes. I meant to say I am expecting around a 780 on my physics SAT II, I am not planning on winning the talent show this year, I am just performing in it, and I am expecting varsity golf this year, but haven’t made the team yet.

So your numbers are fantastic. The biggest issue I see is that you basically started all of your ECs junior or senior year. Before I chance you can you clarify is there a reason (like you switched schools) or did you simply choose to remain uninvolved?

The reason i started junior and senior year is because in my school you can only do peer leaders if you’re a junior or senior and you can only be a part of student ambassadors and national honor society if you’re a senior. Also, I tutor freshman and sophomores because my guidance counselor gave me that opportunity therefore I had to be a junior to start so I could understand the subjects I’m tutoring. So there were a lot of restrictions to what I could join. Do you think this would hurt me in my application?

I do think it will hold you back. Even with those limitations you should have done things outside of school (unless you live in the middle of nowhere). Speaking from personal experience places like libraries, hospitals, museums, and youth groups all provide opportunities for youth to volunteer and/or lead, as well as local nonprofits. So basically this has led to you lacking in community service and leadership, the two things schools look for most in ECs and no major time commitment to any ECs for your entire high school career (also an issue). The sports should help compensate a bit with the commitment aspect, if you are recruitable, pursue the possibility.

Anyway, that long rant aside, I think you have a high chance of being accepted at Tufts and UVa. Cornell will be a low reach, Princeton will be a reach and Yale will be a high reach.

Congrats again on the scores (I am glad we are not applying to the same schools, I just got my first ACT back and it is hideous compared to yours)!

On a side not consider submitting an art supplement, it may demonstrate your interests, despite the lack of ECs to back them.
