Duke - def in

Georgetown - reach
University of Pennsylvania - FAR reach
University of Maryland-College Park - in
Dartmouth - reach
University of Chicago
Washington University in St. Louis - hard to do with those SAT scores, but with good recs you can do it
University of Virginia - in
Johns Hopkins - again, reach, but bring those SAT score sup and you should be alright

your gpa, class rank, and heavy courseload are very impressive. And your EC's and accomplishments shine as well. I'm guessing it's a foregone conclusion that you would get stellar recommendations, so all that's left is getting a high SAT score (ever think about trying the ACT) and a kick-rear essay/personal statement. That 1 vs 100 experience looks pretty cool, maybe you can write something about that. Personally, I would give a couple of the other ivies a shot (clue: one starts with an H, the other with a Y :)), why not. Good luck hilary.

Duke--Slight reach
UCLA-- Match
Georgetown-Reach
University of Pennsylvania-Far Reach
University of Maryland-College Park-Match/safe
Dartmouth-Far reach/Reach
University of Chicago-Reach/Slight Reach
Washington University in St. Louis-Slight Reach/match

I know, I don't want to be harsh, but you're going to need a LOT higher SAT CR score and Math score to get into UPenn, Georgetown, Johns Hopkins, and Dartmouth. Like at least a 100 points higher in CR and at least 30-50 points higher in Math. Your EC's and grades are very great, and should mitigate the SAT scores somewhat, but until you can get at least 730+ on all three categories of the SAT sections, Upenn, G, JH, and D cannot be seen as safe. Have you looked into other really great but not as selective colleges like Pomona or Williams?

I'm hoping to major in something more science-oriented, so I don't think liberal arts schools like Pomona or Williams would be good choices for me.

Cornell? USC? Carnegie Mellon? In the Big Ten: Northwestern, Wisconsin, Michigan, and many of the other Big Ten schools have good science-related programs.
