You seem to be very competitive for admission, impossible to say with any certainty though. Congrats on your high school achievements. Good luck.

This is a purely personal decision largely dependent on: is William & Mary your top choice? If so and you are able to afford it go for it. If not, I would apply to the university that is your top choice using ED.

im kinda confused are you saying that I should be aiming lower than W and M?

Your stats are very similar to my Ds (except her strengths are liberal arts) and she was accepted RD for the class of 2021 and we are also from NJ. She really showed interest in the school, visiting it twice and doing the optional interview. The interview is weird. She was asked if she was a kitchen appliance what would she be and why. There were other curve ball questions like that. We think her interviewer was impressed that she met up with people she knew at W&M to really find out about the school. The college really looks for people who want to learn and are intellectually curious. W&M really stresses cross disciplinary studies (look at core requirements).

So I think your chances are good if you show interest and a true love of learning. Try not to just be STEM. Good luck!

I think the school is a good match for you. Being OOS always adds a bit of unknown. As mentioned above, I would try to demonstrate interest. I think you have a good shot.

@baxter I actually wanna do something in Economics or liberal arts. Unlike most male asians from my area, I am avidly against any STEM major haha. Could you explain more about the interview?

@crabbedmarrow82 Sorry I missed your post in April! The interview is optional but it gives you wonderful opportunity to show you are serious about W&M. The interview is on campus and conducted by seniors. They aske wild questions. This past year they asked “if you were a household appliance what appliance would you be and why? If your life was a book what would be the title?” Look up some prior year questions and be prepared so these oddballs don’t throw you off your game.

Hey! Just wondering if you ended up applying?
