Planning to write essay about math, wasn't my best subject beforehand
Asking chem and french teacher for recs, should be alright
Applying to WCAS Early Decision
Undecided on major

One glitch in my app though will probably be that the name i'll apply with will be one first name and one last name (e.g. Maryjane Smith) but on my transcript and SAT report, it'll have my name as one first, one middle, and one last (e.g. Mary Jane Smith). If I call them about this, it won't be a problem, will it?

This is probably as complete as it'll get. Any input at all will be appreciated; I really want to get into NU, probably more than how badly some other kids want to get into an Ivy. :)

i dont think your name should be too much of a problem if you handle it well.
and i also think you have a good chance :)

How does your school do weighted GPA? At mine it would be literally impossible to get anywhere close to a 6.0 with only 2 AP classes.

I think you'll be fine. Don't stress!

I would be surprised if you didn't get in. 1520, above NU's 75th SAT percentile AND applying ED!
If you don't get in that means Northwestern will have become a million times harder to get into than it is now.

^SAT score is actually right at the 75th percentile, not above it. Good chance nonetheless.

Phew, I'm relieved. I hope I don't bomb the essay or do anything stupid. Thanks for your replies!

Ugh, the system at our school is really weird. A normal class is weighted 5.0, an honors at 6.0, and an AP at 6.5. For each letter grade below, the grade point drops by one. I think they did it like this to lessen the number of valedictorians at our school; we used to have like seven a year.

I figure i'd bump this one last time before I actually apply; dont kill me for it. ><

You think? Hearing that just made my day. Thanks for the input!

@Sam Lee: Thank you! I was very happy to hear I got into the top 3% as well earlier this year.
