Hi, I’m currently a sophmore in an Early College High School in Texas and I am wondering what my chances might be for acceptance into Cornell (One of my top choices). Early college high school is a program where I take all advances classes (although the vast majority are just Pre-AP) and college classes at the same time from my local community college (Alamo Colleges, which have a good sized campus and many resources). My school is a bit lacking in AP courses and extracurriculars as compared to my home high school. There are also no sports or theatre, but I can take those at my home school. I was also wondering if it would b a good choice to transfer back to my home school, which has much more funding and opportunities. (P.S. the credits from college will not transfer to an out of state school.)
Ranking: 25/108 and currently climbing
GPA: 97
Current and future college courses: Foundations of College Learning, Personal/Community Health, Elementary Spanish I and II, Composition I and II, United States History I and II, College Algebra, Introductory Physics I and II, Introduction to Speech Communication, Federal Government, British Literature I and II, Texas Government, Biology for Science Majors I and II, Introductory to Sociology, and Introduction to Theatre
Extra-Curriculars: Founding menmer of the allied sciences club, Debate club, Yearbook, National Merit Honor Socety, National Society of Leadership and Success (College Society), Model United Nations, Treasurer of American Sign Language Club.
Volunteer Work: Volunteer in college science departments; volunteer program lined up for this summer at hospital.
That’s all. I appreciate any feedback, thank you.
P.S. - I will be going into the medical field to hopefully become a surgeon when I graduate.
