Chances of Acceptance into top California schools

Hey Guys,

I have been wondering about my chances of getting into a top California school like UCLA, UCB, Santa Clara and maybe even Stanford. I know some of them are reaches I just wanna know if theres any decent chance I could get accepted into one of them. UCLA is my number one school and where I would love to go.

I’m currently a senior in high school. I live in New York and go to a “rigorous”, private high school in the city. I have taken 3 APs and 3 Honor classes and I have a 3.7 UW GPA (my school doesn’t weight). I rank at around number 21 in the class. I have a SAT II Score of 1900 (620 CR, 640 M, 640 W), but I am taking it in November and I think I’m going to raise that. I took the SAT I Biology E/M subject test and scored a 690, I took the Math Level 2 subject test and scored a 710. I have been a varsity runner on the cross country and track team for 4 years and I am currently the captain. I am the vice president of the African American Club, and I have put it a substantial amount of hours there. I also have over 150 hours volunteering at a homeless center and church group. I am currently working on my personal statements now.

With these details, what do you think my chances are of getting into top Cali schools especially UCLA and Cal.
Any comments or help would be appreciated.
Thank You

GPA is slightly low for UCLA and Berkeley, SAT score is definitely too low. If you can raise your SAT to at least a 2100 I think you have a decent chance at both, although being an out-of-state hurts you a bit. Stanford is kinda out of reach :frowning:

GPA and SAT are too low for UCLA/UCB. You want around a 3.9+ unweighted/2100+ SAT for a solid chance at these schools. Stanford is way out of Reach. SCU is probably a good match but bumping up your SAT score will help.
