Hey guys recently i applied to an instate university through the common app, however i ended up making a clumsy mistake. for the writing supplements i ended up sending the drafts (which contain A LOT of grammatical errors) in rather than my final copy. I realized this about a week later and emailed their office of undergraduate admissions my situation along with the final copies as attatchments. A representative of the university emailed me back the next day stating that they replaced the old essays with the new ones. Making a note to the committee, on my account that the new ones should be viewed in replace of the old ones. I was relieved at first, but my friends are making me feel quite anxious as there is a possibility that my chances could be hurt. The university has got a 60% acceptance rate, and my test scores and GPA are above the average. Are my chances of getting in hurt at all?
I would assume not. Especially since you seem like you are well qualified I don’t think it will hurt your chances at all. You emailed them the correct copies only a week after you sent in the app so they most likely hadn’t even read the drafts anyway and definitely won’t put any extra work into reading them.
No. You’re not hurt. The school already said they would review the new essays. Chill.
